The short version

Scroll The Gita is a reading and reflection app for the Bhagavad Gita. Use it kindly and for personal, non-commercial purposes. Its reflections — including AI-generated ones — are for inspiration and education, not professional advice. Gita Plus is an optional subscription billed through Apple. We provide the App "as is."

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Scroll The Gita mobile application and related services ("the App"), operated by Triangle IT Solutions LLC, a company based in Arizona, USA ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. The App

Scroll The Gita lets you read the Bhagavad Gita verse by verse with translations and study notes, save and reflect on verses, and — optionally — ask an AI guide for explanations grounded in the text. Most features work fully offline; the AI features require a connection.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the App. If you are a minor, please use the App with a parent or guardian's involvement.

3. The content is for reflection, not professional advice

The Bhagavad Gita, its translations, and our study notes and AI reflections are offered for spiritual, educational, and inspirational purposes only. They are not, and are not a substitute for, professional medical, psychological, legal, financial, or other advice. If you are struggling or in crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or a local emergency service. Reliance on any content in the App is at your own discretion.

4. AI-generated answers

"Ask the Guide" and "Apply to my life" produce answers generated by an AI model (provided by Anthropic), grounded in the selected verse. AI can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misinterpret your question, and its answers are not authoritative religious instruction or a scholarly commentary. Treat them as a starting point for your own reflection, and use your own judgment. Do not submit sensitive personal information in your questions.

5. Gita Plus subscription

Some features may be offered through Gita Plus, an optional auto-renewing subscription. Where Gita Plus is available:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renew, in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region. Refunds, where available, are handled by Apple under its policies.

The specific benefits included in Gita Plus are described in the App and may change over time.

6. Community features and giving

The Community section may let you suggest charitable organizations for a future giving feature and, later, vote on recipients. We are not currently collecting or distributing donations. Suggestions and any preview of a future giving feature are informational only and are not a promise that any donation will be made to any organization.

7. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, and not to:

abuse, overload, probe, or attempt to bypass the limits or security of our AI service or servers;
scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute the App's content or the AI service;
reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App except where the law expressly permits;
use the App to violate any law or the rights of others.

8. Intellectual property

The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient text in the public domain. However, our English translations, study notes, curation, design, artwork, software, and the "Scroll The Gita" name and branding are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App and its content for your own reflection. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Third-party services

The App relies on services from Apple, RevenueCat, Anthropic, and Fly.io. Your use of features involving them may also be subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for third-party services.

10. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI answers will be accurate.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the App or its content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50.

12. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or limit access to the AI service or the App if these Terms are violated or to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the date above and post the new version here; significant changes will be reflected in the App. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Arizona will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

15. Apple App Store — additional terms

If you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that:

These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
Your license to use the App is limited to use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, per the App Store Terms.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
Apple is not responsible for any product warranties or for addressing any claims relating to the App (including product-liability, legal-compliance, or intellectual-property claims); such matters are our responsibility to the extent set out in these Terms.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
